Here are the areas the President is most likely to edit:
President's Web Corner is straight forward. You can edit anything in the white area. In the green area, you can edit the "See Also" link list available to the left of the white box.
The main sections of the home page:
President's Headline ALL TEXT in the Presidents headline will be at the top of the Ohio-OLCA home page. The text should be a Headline or emergency notification such as a meeting change of location of cancelation. Long text will make the OLCA home page too long. The President's web corner is for long articles. The President can control the layout of the President's Headline page. Since the home page is also applying formats to this page when it shows it, formatting here should be limited.
After editing this page, it is a good idea to visit the home page with a standard web browser, such as a recent release of FireFox, Navigator, or Internet Explorer, to get a view of the conference headline as site visitors will see it.
The three sections of OLCA info on the home page: Section 1, Section 2, Section 3
Points of Contact is a text section for you to insert brief addresse(s), e-mail, or phone info for members to reach the key OLCA leaders. The server will copy it to the bottom of the Home page and the OLCA feedback page which is connected to the "Contact OLCA" button. I can set up software for it to show up on other pages, if you like.
The OLCA Banner This page is for VERY BRIEF words that visitors would find helpful on every page. If someone doesn't need to see something OVER and OVER and OVER and ... please don't put the item in the OLCA top-of-page banner. Normaly that space should be reserved for the OLCA name, and navigation buttons. If you wanted a site search capability, it would go there. I've used it for a short term notice to visitors that I was working on the site and there might be short term access problems. You could put up an EMERGENCY notice such as an emergency change of meeting time date or location. Don't put up routine material; it would make the site look amateur.
In addition, t he President may edit all other OLCA information pages. Any area of OLCA web site content can be fourd in OLCA's contribute folders, by using the "Choose ..." button beside the folders image in the upper right hand corner of the Contribute window. Quick shortcuts to the main Contribute folders are listed below. (If you don't see the page you need, please use the "Choose ..." button.):
pres, benes (benes holds the OLCA Resources materials), conf, forms, libr, maps, memb, news

Let me know if you'd like me to set up the search engine on the home page. You will be able to edit the home page President's section with the special private page I set up for you. The link to that private page is at the top of this page.
